• August 2012 - EVH Debate Closed. After years of controversy over whether EVH or open-vein harvesting (OVH) provides better outcomes during CABG surgery, the debate has finally been closed. A Duke University study of 235,394 patients demonstrated that EVH was not associated with increased mortality or increased adverse cardiac events at three years, which was made even more significant by the fact that the study was conducted by the same research group that questioned the safety of EVH in the 2009 PREVENT IV study.
